Housing Visions Named a Top Developer of Affordable Housing

SYRACUSE, NY – Housing Visions Unlimited, Inc., a Syracuse-based nonprofit developer and manager of affordable housing, announced today that it has been named one of the “Top 50 Affordable Housing Developers” by Affordable Housing Finance (AHF) magazine.

Founded by Kenyon Craig in 1990, Housing Visions was the 7th ranked nonprofit developer of Affordable Housing in America and ranked No. 32 overall. It is the first time Housing Visions has been included in the list.

“This is an honor which underscores how much Housing Visions is helping to revitalize neighborhoods through affordable housing development and supportive services,” said Kenyon Craig, President and CEO of Housing Visions. “I congratulate our leadership team and entire staff, our Board of Directors, and most of all, the residents of these revitalized communities, who are clearly the heart and soul of our efforts.”

The AHF ranking is based on the number of units started in 2014. Housing Visions started 4 projects last year, comprising 193  units. This year’s list was compiled from a survey of 107 leading for-profit and non-profit affordable housing developers from across the nation.

“Everyone at Housing Visions is elated with the distinction of being named one of the top nonprofit developers by such a prestigious industry publication,” said Rebecca Newman, Vice President and COO for Housing Visions. “Housing Visions continues to grow by taking on larger and more complex developments across the New York and the Northeast to fulfill its mission of revitalizing neighborhoods.”
