The redevelopment, led by Housing Visions Consultants, Inc. (HVC), and NEW CDM, LLC, led by President Christopher Pisanti, Cory Bendekovic and Jontomas Bixby, will deliver 101 new affordable homes to the Village of Newark, NY—80 one-bedroom and 21 two-bedroom apartments designed to support a diverse workforce, including individuals, couples, and families. Ten units are fully accessible and five units are hearing/visual impaired accessible units. The redevelopment will breathe new life into a long-underused industrial site and restore its role as a community anchor in the village.
Just a 3 to 5-minute walk from downtown and one block from the Erie Canalway Trail, the site offers an ideal mix of accessibility, connectivity, and walkability. Residents will enjoy proximity to shops, services, parks, and community life—without long commutes or car-dependent living.
This convenience also boosts downtown vitality as new residents become everyday patrons and participants in the local economy.
As a Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) project, Coventry Commons is more than housing—it’s a visible investment in the Village’s future. Transforming a vacant historic structure into a vibrant residential community sustains downtown momentum. More people living downtown means more foot traffic, stronger small business growth, and a dynamic community—all of which enhance quality of life.
